I bought a new car!

And I am obsessed with it. When I think about it, I get nervous butterflies in my stomach.

I have been looking for weeks at cars on different websites and when I saw this bad boy I knew it was the one. I know you aren't supposed to go into a car dealership with that mindset but guys, I NEEDED that car. And I got it!

It's a 2010 Lincoln MKX and it is amazing.

I figured this was probably the only time in my life I will be able to buy exactly what I want. Since i'm still at home I can double up payments and pay it off much quicker!

And the best part is I bought it. ME. With money that I work for. I love that.

About 30 minutes after the tornado passed...sunshine.

We've been fundraising for Camp Cocoon, a charity for children who have had loved ones die.

Ok my title may be misleading, my story isn't nearly as interesting as the title sounds. Anyways...

Yesterday I was scared. Like really scared. Where you feel like your insides are on fire you are so scared.

We knew bad weather was coming and the storm prediction center had us at slight risk.

Then it became moderate risk for severe weather.

Then yesterday morning it became high risk. And SPC issued a "particularly dangerous situation" warning. uh-oh.

The storms started firing in the early afternoon and we were glued to the TV.

As the weather outside quickly deteriorated the weatherman reported a large destructive tornado in holly springs headed north. The path they showed went right through our neighborhood.

I have never heard thunder like that in my life. Never!

Then the weatherman said something that really scared me. They issued a "tornado emergency" for Raleigh. I know enough from watching Storm Chasers and being a weather nerd that this was a big deal..

It was the first time this has ever happened in NC. Let me say this again. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED EVER BEFORE.

The weather man said "act now to protect your life". Then the power flickered then went out.

I went into the closet with the dogs.

Radar showing the track of the house is the X!

The rain wrapped tornado near downtown Raleigh

Thank god the tornado missed us. Unfortunately a few miles away people weren't so lucky. The huge twister went right through downtown Raleigh and continued to destroy homes, lives and especially mobile home parks. There is utter devastation.

Black Heels to Tractor Wheels by Ree Drummond

It is no secret that I LOVE Ree Drummond (aka The Pioneer Woman). A while back she published a series on her blog of her love story with her now husband Marlboro Man. It was fantabulous. But it stopped at the wedding. UM I needed more.

Thank God she wrote a whole book! And it's going to be a movie soon! YAY!

I don't have that much time to read, but I do have a lot of time to listen. Instead of buying the book I downloaded the audio version from Itunes. Even better Ree narrates and does a fabulous job. I just finished. It took me only 3 days. I listened while getting ready in the morning, driving to work, driving from work, before bed, while washing my face...etc. It was pretty great. You should download it ASAP.

I love Ree.

A picture of my belly!

...well inside my belly anyways.

I added some nice tags to help you guys out. This was taken under fluoroscope as I swallowed barium for the contrast. If you imagine a circle around where the x is, that is my band! you can also see the pouch right above it and the line leading to the port which is under my abdominal muscle that they use to put in or take fluid out of the band. They see how quickly the barium goes through the band into the stomach to determine if you need a fill or not. You can see by how narrow mine is right now that they did not need to give me a fill today!

New Hairdo!

Not really much different in the cut but a different style that I will probably never be able to replicate on my own but I'm gonna try! New color too, some more dark contrast and brighter highlights!
