There is nothing better than homemade ice cream in the summer. Here is my personal favorite: Butterfinger.
Here's what you'll need besides the recipe ingredients:
-A strong young lad for churning the ice cream maker (unless you have one of them fancy electric ones)
-A Jack Russell for licking up excess spills
-A dad standing in his bathroom window hollering directions
Sadly you cannot find these items at the store.
But these you can!
Butterfinger Ice Cream:
In a mixing bowl, mix together:
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups whipping cream
3 cups half and half
Once mixed set aside
In a food processor grind 6 packs of mini butterfingers
I like some bigger chunks in mine so i pulse it, but if you like it finer then go ahead!
Add butterfinger to ice cream base then follow the directions of your ice cream maker.
Ours was to turn
and turn...
and turn
(see this is why you need a strong young lad)
Then just sit back and enjoy the results
